Christmas Greeting- 2025!!

Greetings
all! We hope you are well this Christmas season. This
letter is coming early as Dan and I are heading to Maui Hawaii
soon to celebrate our 40th Anniversary
(Aug. 2026). I too always convert it to a family Christmas web
page. We have been to 5 Hawaiian islands but haven’t been back to
Maui since our honeymoon! We are looking forward to some time for
rest, relaxation and Hawaiian adventures!
The
year brought many joys and adventures and reminders of the
importance of those dearly loved. We again traversed
to Family Camp, a beloved tradition, along with personal and
professional travels including ski trips, Belize, a trip to see
Dan’s brother Tom and our sister-in-law Ann in Florida, a trek to
the Black Hills, my annual excursion with dad to see my dad’s
brother Jim and my aunt Kathy in the U.P. Michigan (sadly we lost
Jim in November), my annual trips to the North Shore to see a dear
friend and to ski, and personal and professional conference
travels throughout the U.S. We are grateful and thank you for your
role in our journey.

Always fun with the grandkids! Arlo loves Panera :)

Dan: Defying age and having an active schedule akin to someone decades younger, Dan continued active in tennis as the head coach at Maple Grove, teaching tennis classes at the University of Minnesota, and though he retired from head coaching for the boys, Coon Rapids high school quickly picked him up as an Assistant Coach. This position provides flexibility for travel and other events in the Spring months. He and Mikaela also played at a number of community festivals, Dan playing the guitar and singing and Mikaela the drums (also lending her beautiful voice to their gigs). Dan and I also continue to be involved in our church Matthew 25 food giveaway ministry and we both sing on the praise band and are active in church committees. Highlights of Dan’s year include singing with Mikaela, travel with yours truly, teaching tennis and spending time with our kitties and family members.

Kristi: I continue on
as a professor, now in my 29th year
at St. Kate’s! I too have remained active with publishing a number
of chapters and articles and recently started my 4th text
book (with two others). Although I planned on decreasing my
writing, sometimes life has other plans! Outside of work I
continue to have a private practice for persons with psychiatric
and developmental conditions and remain active in running, biking,
skiing, hiking, and enjoying spending time with and watching the
grandkids! I
again captained our 30th MS
150 bike team (Duluth to the Twin Cities). Thanks to all who have
supported us as we have now raised around $225,000 for MS
Research! I have plans to continue these activities and to present
research at our OT World Congress in Bangkok in the near future. Highlights
of my year include the many amazing travels, spending time with
those loved, grandkid fun, and volunteer activities.

Mikaela and Family: All
are doing well as Mikaela continues as an amazing, witty,
hardworking 3rd grade
teacher at New City School. They
started a new curriculum this year and Mikaela has worked extra
hard to assimilate fun and creative learning activities into the
classroom. She too is an amazing mom, dedicating time, energy and
creativity to invented games, outdoor adventures, and amazing life
experiences perfect for kids! Caleb, now 12,
continues to shine in school, especially liking math along with
reading countless books on a variety of topics. He is active in
hockey and baseball and has developed new friends as he is now in
new leagues and in middle school. Arlo is an active
5-year old full of life and love. He enjoys sports and was asked
by his soccer league to join the 6-8 year old kids. Despite
hesitation, he did great and even tried to help the coaches if
some of the other kids weren’t listening to directions 😊. Arlo also loves his pets,
too many games to mention, and all superheroes!
